This endowment honors the leadership and commitment of former IL State Representative Luis V. Gutierrez and former IL State Senator Miguel del Valle, two distinguished public servants whose tireless work helped launch the Proyecto Pa'Lante program. Their dedication to empowering Latino youth through education and opportunity has created a lasting legacy of hope and advancement in our community.
Luis V. Gutierrez, a long-serving U.S. Congressman and Chicago native, has been a powerful advocate for immigrant rights, educational equity, and social justice. His advocacy has opened doors for countless young people, especially within Chicago’s Latino community, championing policies that foster inclusion and opportunity.
Miguel Del Valle, a former ÃØÃÜÑо¿Ëùs State Senator and Chicago City Clerk, has similarly devoted his career to public service with a focus on education, community development, and civic engagement. His leadership in local government has helped create pathways for underserved youth to pursue higher education and meaningful careers.
Together, Gutierrez and Del Valle were instrumental in founding Proyecto Pa'Lante, a pioneering program designed to support Latino students in their pursuit of college degrees. Proyecto Pa'Lante has been a beacon of hope, providing mentorship, academic support, and leadership development to students navigating the challenges of higher education.
