Research Interests
My current work centers on the intersection of culture, politics, inequalities, and storytelling. Looking especially at immigrant and ethnic politics in urban communities, it asks how culture figures in competition for public office and in the unequal distribution of resources across cultural groups, neighborhoods, communities, and broader social geographies. Currently, I am exploring the processes of 鈥渂ecoming 鈥楢merican鈥欌 by examining identity construction, public policy, and social inequalities via stories on citizenship, immigration, education, race, class, and ethnicity.
