“I transferred to NEIU after finishing three years of community college, because the school had a good Bachelor of Social Work program, was affordable and not too far from my home. Once I get my master’s degree, I'll be able to work in the medical field and education. I want to work in Veterans Affairs, once I finish my internship at a Veterans Affairs field site.

I’ve grown socially and academically here. The Living Learning Community (LLC) I was in at The Nest residence hall allowed me to gain experience living with other students. The LLC paid for my room and board, and I don't think I would have been able to graduate college without the wonderful LLC opportunity. I was also in the McNair Scholars Program which allowed me to gain experience with research and gave me the opportunity to use this experience for my social work research capstone.

I would recommend transferring to NEIU. The school is very diverse and has a lot of opportunities for students even if they don’t have the financial means to attend. NEIU is especially great for students who need extra support.”

“Me transferí a NEIU después de terminar tres años de colegio comunitario, porque la escuela tenía un buen programa de Licenciatura en Trabajo Social, era asequible y no quedaba muy lejos de mi casa. Una vez que obtenga mi maestría, podré trabajar en el campo médico y en la educación. Quiero trabajar en Asuntos de Veteranos, una vez que termine mi pasantía en un sitio de campo de Asuntos de Veteranos.

He crecido social y académicamente aquí. La Comunidad de Aprendizaje Viviente (LLC, por sus siglas en inglés) en la que estuve en el dormitorio The Nest me permitió adquirir experiencia viviendo con otros estudiantes. La LLC pagó mi habitación y comida, y no creo que hubiera podido graduarme de la universidad sin la maravillosa oportunidad de LLC. También estuve en el Programa de Becarios McNair, que me permitió adquirir experiencia en investigación y me dio la oportunidad de usar esta experiencia para mi proyecto final de investigación en trabajo social.

Recomendaría transferirse a NEIU. La escuela es muy diversa y ofrece muchas oportunidades para los estudiantes, incluso si no tienen los medios financieros para asistir. NEIU es especialmente ideal para los estudiantes que necesitan apoyo adicional.”
