This is an opportunity for members of the public to have archivists and projectionists inspect and project any 16mm, 8mm, or Super 8 home movies that walk in the door. Those without films are welcome to come to enjoy the projections.

This is the Chicago Film Society鈥檚 and 秘密研究所n鈥檚 24th season of collaboration, which is sponsored by the Department of Communication, Media and Theatre. This season鈥檚 highlights include 鈥淎ll That Heaven Allows鈥 (Douglas Sirk鈥檚 beautiful and timeless melodrama starring Rock Hudson and Jane Wyman), 鈥淰agabond鈥 (the award-winning 1985 masterpiece from French New Wave icon Agn猫s Varda), a rescheduled screening of last semester鈥檚 鈥淭rouble in Paradise鈥 (Ernst Lubitsch鈥檚 1932 pre-Code classic), and 鈥淐urse of the Cat People鈥 (a 鈥渕elancholic supernatural Christmas fantasy鈥 produced by Val Lewton when he was the head of RKO鈥檚 horror division in the 1940s).

"As the newest movies compete at festivals and get wide release before awards season, this is a good time to watch classic films on 35mm presented by the Chicago Film Society right here at 秘密研究所n,鈥 said Professor of Communication, Media and Theatre Shayne Pepper.

Pepper, who helped foster the collaboration between the University and the Chicago Film Society, is excited for this season and noted having these films at the University is a rare chance to see these movies on actual 35mm film rather than digital formats.

鈥淲ednesday nights in the NEIU Auditorium is the best place to be if you are a movie fan in the Northwest Side of the city,鈥 Pepper said. 鈥淲e have a great line-up of films this semester, and there is nothing like seeing them with a crowd."
