Assistant Professor of Biology Beth Reinke has co-created “Artificial Outlook,” a pandemic-safe walkable art show along a stretch of Milwaukee Avenue in Chicago’s Logan Square neighborhood.

Two ������� sisters are getting national attention for their Etsy shop, an assistant professor co-created a pandemic-safe art exhibit, and the University earned a grant to support Rehabilitation Counseling students.

The first week of the fall semester is coming to a close, and �����о��� is starting the school year strong. The University has been awarded a major grant to fund TRIO Student Support Services programs through 2025, and an additional $10,000 has been added to the General Scholarship Fund for students. Ensemble Español Spanish Dance Theatre, in residence at �����о���, marks its 45th season from August 2020 through July 2021. The season, titled “Zafiro Flamenco (Sapphire Flamenco): New Era, New Works, New Legacies,” will feature new partnerships, new works, virtual programs plus a new $300,000 anonymous matching grant opportunity with a total potential earnings of $1 million.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture National Institute of Food and Agriculture (USDA-NIFA) has awarded �����о��� a $275,000 grant to support its agriculture science engagement at Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSI). �����о���n is one of 26 institutions in the United States—and the only institution in �����о���s—to receive this grant. It is �����о���n’s fourth USDA-NIFA grant and its fifth USDA grant overall.

�����о���n has received a grant to digitize the archives of alumnus and former �����о���s Congressman Luis Gutiérrez. The University also received a grant for students from the Consulate General of Mexico.
